Prime Minister of Georgia Meets with President of Iran
Irakli Kobakhidze the Prime Minister of Georgia traveled to Tehran to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Islamic Republic of Irans new President Masoud Pezeshkian. During his visit Prime Minister Kobakhidze met and held discussions with President Pezeshkian.
In their meeting, President Pezeshkian emphasized that strengthening relations with neighboring countries is a priority of his government's foreign policy. He noted that developing relations between Iran and Georgia is a win-win situation not only for Tehran and Tbilisi but for the entire region. President Pezeshkian stated that Iran, like Georgia, is committed to enhancing cooperation in areas of shared interest to promote prosperity and development for both nations. Prime Minister Kobakhidze congratulated the people of Iran on the election of Dr. Pezeshkian and wished him success on the path of development and progress for Iran. He remarked: "Iran plays an important and constructive role in the region, and we are very pleased that a friendly atmosphere prevails in the relations between our two countries." Highlighting the strong motivation both countries have to strengthen interactions, Prime Minister Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of expanding economic cooperation to further bolster political relations. Kobakhidze stated: "We are happy that relations between our countries are progressing in various fields, and that public interactions and cooperation between the private sectors of Iran and Georgia are increasing day by day."
